I am Samuel John Ford, a professional Isle of Wight photographer based on the island. This collection brings together my favourite landscape, architectural and lifestyle photographs of the Isle of Wight — the chalk sea stacks at Freshwater Bay, the Needles Lighthouse at the western tip, the long sweep of Compton Bay, the historic Gothic churches inland, and the quiet, atmospheric moments that define this stretch of coastline.

This portfolio covers a wide range of Isle of Wight landscape photography locations: The Needles and the Needles Lighthouse, Freshwater Bay with its blooming sea thrift in late spring, Compton Bay at golden hour, Alum Bay, the chalk-cliff coves of the south coast, and historic architecture across Ryde, Newport and Cowes. From sunrise across the eastern shore to the moody black-and-white cliffs of the south-west, the island offers some of the most varied coastal photography in the United Kingdom.
